Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Though myofascial release is our primary modality, we also offer several complimentary techniques mentioned below. We acknowledge that it takes a village to heal and are happy to offer you a variety of services and communicate with any other healthcare practitioners you are working with on your Voyage to HEAL.
Assisted Stretching: An assisted stretching session offers you more guidance to completing your self-treatment program effectively and answers any questions that you may have, such as "How long should I hold a stretch?". Reach out to Jocelyn Metzger or Michele Gangwer for more information.
Massage: This gentle kneading of the soft tissue is highly beneficial for softening muscle knots, moving fluid, and relaxation. Our therapists specialize in deep tissue massage, prenatal massage, hot stones healing, infant massage, and Swedish massage. Reach out to Virginia Rosell for more information.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage: Manual lymphatic drainage activates the movement of lymphatic fluid to decrease swelling and boost the body's ability to heal and fight off infections. It is great for seasonal allergies, post surgery, or inflammation. Most clients find it very calming as well. Reach out to Jocelyn Metzger for more information.
Yoga: Reconnect the body, the mind, and the breath while increasing flexibility and strength. We offer Hatha yoga focused on flexibility with a bit of strengthening while ensuring that proper form is being used. Once a month a restorative yoga class is offered in place of the Hatha Yoga class on Wednesday morning at 9 am in combination with Pilates. All classes can be adapted to participant's needs. Private yoga sessions are highly recommended to meet your needs and ensure proper form. Reach out to Michele Gangwer for more information.
Yoga Nidra: is a profoundly relaxing, deeply restful practice and the fullest expression of yoga can be found in the gift of total relaxation. Yet we know relaxation can often be difficult to achieve, because stress tends to become lodged in our nervous systems. The storage of stress hampers our ability to relax fully and limits our experience of the inner healing comfort that's available to all of us at the deepest levels of our awareness. It's rest of the deepest kind. Our usual asleep is often not effective enough to reach and untangle these very deep levels of stress. Yoga Nidra is a simple and powerful technique designed specifically to release the obstacles to relaxation. Yoga Nidra provides the necessary deep rest that allows the body - mind to heal itself naturally. During Yoga Nidra we dive deep within to contact and absorb the powerful healing qualities of calm, comfort, and ease that are at our very core. In this way, the deeply held patterns of stress begin to unwind and release. This entire practice is about allowing, not trying, but simply allowing ourselves to release into the comfort of our very essence, pure being, the source of all healing, relaxation and bliss. You'll find the subtle levels of awareness have a gravity of their own that pulls you toward ever deepening experiences of peacefulness and tranquility. (modified from Mindful Yoga Therapy, MYT).
Urban Zen Integrated Therapy (UZIT): This form of yoga was originally designed to treat patients holistically in the hospital setting. However, it’s been found to be universally beneficial throughout the community. An integrative therapy session incorporates 3 gentle healing modalities: Reiki, essential oils, and yoga. A typical class begins with essential oil aromatherapy, gentle mindful movements (don’t worry- there’s no downward dog here!), and effortlessly leading into restorative yoga (you are completely supported and propped). While in the supported restorative yoga postures, you will be guided through breath awareness exercises and body scan meditations. Reiki will be provided throughout the session (optional of course). This integrative approach is uniquely designed to address Pain, Anxiety, Nausea, Insomnia, Constipation, and Exhaustion (PANIC). You will learn mindfulness, stress management, & self-care skills to help you live in the present and cope with everyday stressors more effectively. Most importantly, you will leave feeling rested, relaxed, and restored.
Pilates: If there is one area of the body that stays tense from lack of strength, it would be the pelvic floor and the core. This highly under used area is crucial for stability, balance, and back health. Pilates focuses on form and proper activation of the pelvic floor and the core. The Pilates instructor will take you through movements with a close eye on keeping your body stable. One-on-one sessions are highly recommended prior to completing a group class offered on Mondays at 1 pm and on Wednesday morning at 9 am in combination with Yoga. Experience the benefits of the pilates reformer to stretch and strengthen you during a one-on-one session. Reach out to Michele Gangwer for more information.
Health Coaching: It's not just about what you eat. The body is a complex organism that requires all systems to be functioning at their best potential to maintain good health. Several factors come into play including our diet, exercise, stress level, and our belief systems. Whether you are looking for guidance on weight loss, boosting organ function, or your energy level, a certified health coach will guide you to meet your goal of living healthier and happier. Reach out to Michele Gangwer for more information.
Essential oils/ Aromatherapy: Oils are the historical medicine of ancient years when pills did not exist. Essential oils are a great compliment to subtly enhancing your mood and assisting in decreasing the symptoms of various ailments. Reach out to Virginia Rosell for more information.
Prayer Work: Our form of healing touch, Reiki, therapeutic touch, etc is classified as deep, concentrated prayer work to energetically and spiritually bring healing and balance to your body. We believe in the power of prayer and God to heal. Come experience it first hand. Reach out to Jocelyn Metzger, Virginia Rosell, or Michele Gangwer for more information.
