The Core of the Matter

Posture, breathing, psoas tension, pelvic imbalances, pelvic floor weakness, constant abdominal tension cause havock on the back and the organs. This leads to pain and illness throughout the body. This course will engage the learner to properly use their core region to promote healthy organ function, a strong back, boost their immune system, and sleep better.

Learning Objectives:

*This course is dominantly a hands on lab with the instructor assisting to guide participants to correct use of the technique. Full participation throughout the course is required. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or towel to lay on along with a pillow and a blanket or towel.

*This course is designed for the beginner level practitioner working in all settings that treat the child to geriatric population. This course is an AOTA educational level introductory, Category 1: Domain of OT and 2: Occupational Therapy Process.

Postural Abnormalities and their effect on the body

15 minute break 10:15am-10:30am

Psoas and Pelvic Balancing Stretches

12:00pm - 1:00pm Lunch on Your Own

Basic guidelines for pelvic floor strengthening

Mental Wellness and planning a Core Rehab Program

3:30pm - Course Adjourns
